Jan 6 - 10
Welcome back everyone!!
When you arrive at school, please stay out of the safe zone near the doors. This allows teachers to open the doors safely and welcome everyone inside. By waiting patiently in the designated areas, we can start the day feeling calm and ready to learn. Thank you for showing kindness and respect toward your classmates and teachers!
Here is what we have been up to up this week:
Writing - We wrote about what we did over winter break. Later this week, we started learning about procedural writing. We verbally gave instructions to our partner to draw a picture. It was definitely a learning curve! We then wrote instructions on how to make a peanut butter and jam sandwich. On Friday, Ms. Vashi followed our instructions and made a big mess! We talked about how it is important to write clear steps when writing procedures.
Literacy Stations - We started new stations this week! Ask you child about this!
P.E. - Mission Impossible was lots of fun!
Math - We reviewed what fact families are. Later this week, we started learning about long division. (This may be a difficult concept to understand so it is important for students to be fluent with their multiplication facts.)
Science - Magnet exploration! Ask your child about this.
Congratulations to our Read to Win winners from December! Keep reading :)
Have an amazing weekend!
