Apr 7 - 11

Hello 4B Families,

Important reminders:

  • Please have a conversation about classroom expectations and student accountability in learning and behaviour. See the School Messenger for more information.
  • Please email me if you are able to volunteer for our upcoming field trip in May. See the School Messenger for more information.
  • Please return the Human Sexuality form that was sent to you this Wednesday. They are due by Thursday, April 17th.
  • April 17th is our Family Open House Night. We have been working very hard to create beautiful documentation panels to show you. In addition, we are also excited to show you some of our writing, literacy stations and poetry when you come visit. There will also be prizes, games, and food trucks! Please note, the Hug & Go loop will be closed for afternoon pick up on Thursday, April 17 to allow for the Food Trucks to pull in and get prepped for service by 4:30. Families that use this loop for pick up are asked to please make alternative arrangements with your child on where you will meet them or park somewhere in the neighbourhood and walk in. A reminder that there is never stopping or parking in front of the school as this is our bus zone and we have five school buses and several daycare buses that use this area.
Here is what we have been up to:

Special Presentation - Jace and Henry (the author and illustrator) of the Kidsburgh Chronicles came to visit and talk to us about the process of writing and illustrating their books. The students learned a lot!!

Literacy Stations - We started working on our new stations. They are going good!

Drum Fit in P.E.!

Math - We are learning about Algebra (order of operations, isolating the variable and solving word problems). We also played a blooket :) Our Show What You Know will be later next week.

Root Words - Everyday, we learn 2 root words. We try to figure out what the definition is, and if we can use it in other words. Root words are important as they can help us figure out what multi-syllabic words mean and then we can use them in our writing.

Poetry - We learned how to write Concrete, Colour and Personification poems.

Buddy Time :)

Have a reflective weekend!
